DESCRIPTION

The TAPP Roller Spider replaces the button spider to reduce friction between the spider and movable sheave. Benefits include improved belt grip, lower belt temps, longer belt life, and smoother engagement.

• ROLLER SPIDER DESIGN: Less friction in the movable sheave for faster response.
• CENTER BEARING: New black nitrate coating for increased hardness, corrosion resistance, and reduced friction.
• LARGER ROLLER: Increased from 2mm to 3mm for improved bearing longevity under high load.
• POST: More material and updated heat-treating to prevent clutch slip on the shaft when over-torqued.
• MOVEABLE SHEAVE: Reinforced towers for greater load-bearing capacity.
• CLUTCH COVER: Billet aluminum cover with larger windows to accept additional weight without modification.

EVP Spec TAPP clutches are calibrated for use with the stock secondary clutch and reuse the OEM primary clutch bolt with the included TAPP spacer. Kits include the full standard weight kit plus tungsten TAPP Clutch Race Weights (set of 8).

CLUTCH CALIBRATION GUIDE

There are 4 main adjustable components in an EVP Spec TAPP Clutch:

• Ramp Profile - Kits ship with pre-chosen ramps tested for broad use. Changing profile affects shift characteristics and should be done by an experienced tuner.
• Ramp Angle - Adjusted externally with Quick Shift Bolts. Higher numbers raise RPM. Always adjust angles in pairs opposite each other to avoid imbalance.
• Roller Size - Three sizes available: standard, +1mm, +2mm. Larger rollers quicken low-end RPMs, shift out sooner, and lower full-shift RPM. Smaller rollers slow low-end shift and raise full-shift RPM. Change sizes in pairs opposite each other.
• Weight Adjustment - Via set screws in the arms and washers on the roller thru-bolt. Adding weight lowers RPM; removing weight raises RPM. Adjust evenly in pairs to avoid imbalance or failure.
