Free Safety Inspection on Every Drop-Off

You don't have to ask for it. Whether your machine comes in for an oil change or a lift kit, it gets a complimentary safety inspection while it's in the shop.

What the Safety Inspection Covers

The checklist follows the pre-ride check in ROHVA's tips guide for side-by-side drivers and the pre-ride checks in manufacturer owner's manuals. Items vary by make and model.

UTV safety inspection checklist: brakes, steering, tires, suspension, CV axles, CVT belt, fluids, radiator, controls, lights, seat belts, and cage

  • Brakes and steering: pedal feel, brake fluid, pads, parking brake, tie rods, and steering play
  • Tires and suspension: tire pressure, cuts, lug nuts, shocks, and loose chassis bolts
  • Drivetrain: CV axles and boots, plus CVT belt wear and intake on belt-driven models
  • Fluids and cooling: oil, coolant, gearcase, and fuel leaks, plus mud or grass packed in the radiator or near the exhaust
  • Controls and lights: throttle return, shifter and 4WD, lights, warning lights, and battery terminals
  • Occupant protection: seat belts, cage, nets, and door latches

Seat belts are on the list for a reason. In its 2014 review of fatal side-by-side crashes, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission found that 91% of people killed after being thrown from the vehicle weren't wearing a seat belt.
