    DESCRIPTION

    NEW EVP TAPP CLUTCH UPDATES (2024): The Roller Spider replaces the original button spider to reduce friction between the spider and movable sheave. This improves belt grip, lowers belt temps, extends belt life, and gives smoother, more responsive engagement.

    Updated features:

    • Roller spider design: less friction in the movable sheave for quicker response
    • Center bearing: black nitrate coating adds hardness, limits corrosion, and reduces friction
    • Larger roller: increased from 2mm to 3mm for longer bearing life under heavy loads
    • Post: more material and new heat treatment to resist slipping when over-torqued
    • Movable sheave: reinforced towers for higher load capacity
    • Clutch cover: billet cover with larger windows to accept added weight without modification

    Original features (condensed): EVP-spec TAPP primaries are calibrated for use with the OEM secondary fitted with EVP internals (Shift-Tek helix and spring). Kits include a full standard weight kit plus tungsten race weights (set of 8). EVP TAPP clutches are easy to tune and cover applications from stock to EVP turbo upgrades.

    • Durable: Billet and high-tech materials for extreme heat and heavy use; OEM primary is reliable to about 300 hp; EVP TAPP supports roughly 200–500+ hp.
    • Adjustable: Two-sided ramps swap quickly. Clickers adjust externally. Roller arms accept added mass. Multiple springs available.
    • Cooler temps: Venting and multi-angle sheaves reduce belt temperatures and extend life.
    • Instant response: Centralized mass and low inertia deliver strong belt grip and quick throttle response.
    • Smooth, quiet: Ramp-system arms ride smoothly with minimal vibration.

    CALIBRATION GUIDE

    There are 4 main adjustable components in an EVP Spec TAPP Clutch:

    • Ramp profile: Shipped with pre-selected ramps. Changing profile affects shift behavior and should be done by an experienced tuner.
    • Ramp angle: Adjust outside via Quick Shift bolts. Higher setting = higher RPM. Always adjust in pairs across from each other to avoid imbalance.
    • Roller size: Shipped with a predetermined roller size. Larger rollers quicken low-end shift and lower full-shift RPM; smaller rollers do the opposite. Change rollers in pairs.
    • Weight adjustment: Add/remove mass with set screws in the arms and washers on the roller thru-bolt. More weight lowers RPM; less raises RPM. Make adjustments evenly and in pairs.
