DESCRIPTION
NEW EVP TAPP CLUTCH UPDATES (2024): The Roller Spider replaces the original button spider, reducing friction between the spider and movable sheave. Results: improved belt grip, lower belt temps, longer belt life, and smoother engagement. The patent-pending TAPP Roller Primary Clutch.
UPDATED FEATURES:
- ROLLER SPIDER DESIGN: Less friction vs. button spiders for quicker response.
- CENTER BEARING: Black nitrate coating adds hardness, prevents corrosion, and reduces friction.
- LARGER ROLLER: Increased from 2mm to 3mm for improved bearing longevity under high horsepower.
- POST: More material and new heat-treat. Prevents slipping on the shaft and allows over-torquing for high-horsepower/drag setups.
- MOVEABLE SHEAVE: Reinforced towers for greater load capacity.
- CLUTCH COVER: Billet cover with larger windows to accept additional weight without modification.
ORIGINAL FEATURES: EVP-spec TAPP clutches cover stock through EVP Paragon, Dynomite (DM) and Desert Storm (DS) turbo calibrations. Tuned for use with the OEM secondary clutch fitted with EVP internals, including Shift-Tek Helix and Spring. Kits include the full standard weight kit plus tungsten race weights (set of 8).

CALIBRATION GUIDE
There are 4 main adjustable components in an EVP Spec TAPP Clutch:
- Ramp Profile: Pre-chosen ramps are generally appropriate. Change only with experienced tuning.
- Ramp Angle: Adjustable with Quick Shift Bolts. Higher numbers raise RPM. Always adjust in pairs across from each other to avoid imbalance.
- Roller Size: Shipped with a predetermined size. Options: standard, +1mm, +2mm. Larger rollers quicken low-end shift and lower full-shift RPM. Change in pairs.
- Weight Adjustment: Via arm set screws and washers on the roller bolt. Add weight to lower RPM; remove to raise. Adjust evenly in pairs.
