Pick a whip by what you want it to do

A Marshin Whips set is a pair of whips. Harnesses, mounts, and flags are separate listings, so check each listing for what comes in the box.

• One solid color, in any length: Marshin Whips Game Changer. 2 to 10 feet with a magnetic base. Sold as sets and as singles, so you can replace one whip without buying a pair.
• One solid color, blacked out or chrome: V2 Black Out or V3 Chrome Black. 1 to 6 feet with a hex magnetic mount. V2 has a black powder-coated base. V3 has a billet machined base. Pick on looks and length.
• Color changing and patterns: RGB3 Big Moe or ECOXGEAR whips. Big Moe is a thick, short whip sold in 8 inch, 1.5 foot, and 2 foot sets. ECOXGEAR whips are sold with or without a controller, so check the listing if you need one.
• Whips that also work as brake lights and turn signals: Big Moe 2.0 or the RGBW Vehicle Lighting System. Big Moe 2.0 comes in 8 inch, 1.5 foot, and 2 foot sizes. The RGBW system comes in 2, 3, 4, and 6 feet. Both are listed as waterproof and dustproof.

How long a whip do you need?

Start with where you ride. If you trailer out to the big dune areas, some set a minimum height. The Bureau of Land Management's Imperial Sand Dunes rules require a mast that reaches 8 feet from the ground, with a 6x12 inch red or orange flag within 10 inches of the tip. To hit a height like that, measure from the ground to your mount point and buy the whip that covers the rest.

On tight, wooded trails like a lot of Ozarks riding, a tall whip catches branches. A shorter whip mounted high on the cage is often the easier choice there.

Mounting and wiring UTV whips

• Magnetic bases are a quick release. The whip snaps onto its base without tools, which makes it quick to pull off for storage. The base still needs a solid mounting point on your machine, like the bracket below.
• The Universal Whip Mounting Bracket fits roll cage tube from 1.75 to 2 inches and swivels 360 degrees. Marshin spring mounts sit under the whip and flex when it catches a branch.
• The Marshin Whips Complete Plug and Play Harness runs two whips off one rocker switch, with the fuse and relay built in. It works only with Marshin Whips products.
• RGB whips run on Marshin's 2811 RGB harness. Switching from RGB to single-color whips later? The RGB-to-solid adaptor lets you keep the harness you already ran.

Do I need a whip flag?

At some riding areas, yes. At Little Sahara Recreation Area in Utah, the Bureau of Land Management requires a red or orange whip flag on every off-highway vehicle, standing at least 8 feet above level ground. Check the rules where you ride. We carry Marshin Whips day flags in 12x16 inch, 2x3 foot, and 3x5 foot sizes.

Are LED whips street legal?

Rules for UTV lighting on public roads vary by state and county. A whip that works as a brake light or turn signal doesn't make a machine street legal by itself, so check with your state and county before you count on it.

Will these whips fit my UTV?

The whips here aren't built for one model, so fit comes down to how you mount them. The Universal Whip Mounting Bracket clamps roll cage tube from 1.75 to 2 inches, and the Marshin plug and play harness powers two whips. Call 815-953-9346 with your machine and cage size and we'll match a mount.

Are whip lights waterproof?

It depends on the whip. Big Moe 2.0, RGB3 Big Moe, and the RGBW system are listed as waterproof and dustproof. If a listing doesn't say, ask us before you ride it through water.
