Shop High-Performance UTV Axles

Your side-by-side is only as strong as its weakest drivetrain component. When you are pushing your machine through deep mud or crawling over jagged rocks, you need reliable power transfer to your wheels. At High Clearance UTV, we stock an extensive collection of replacement and heavy-duty UTV axles designed to keep your off-road adventures uninterrupted.

Why Should You Upgrade Your UTV Axles?

Factory axles are engineered for standard, everyday use. The moment you start adding aftermarket weight or pushing your vehicle hard, stock parts can easily twist and snap. Upgrading your axles provides critical benefits:

  • Superior Strength: Heavy-duty aftermarket options are built from high-strength materials like 4340 chromoly steel to absorb extreme shock loads.
  • Better Articulation: Premium axles feature redesigned Constant Velocity (CV) joints with larger cages, allowing them to operate at steeper angles without creating excess heat.
  • Enhanced Durability: Upgraded dust boots and high-performance molybdenum grease keep water and dirt out while minimizing internal friction.

What Types Of Replacement Axles Do We Carry?

We curate our collection to ensure we only sell parts we trust on our own rigs. Depending on your budget and riding style, we offer a few distinct tiers of axles:

  • OEM-Equivalent Replacements: Lines like the OPEN TRAIL OE 2.0 feature a solid chrome steel center shaft that is up to 20% stronger than stock. These are reliable, affordable choices for casual trail riders.
  • Heavy-Duty Upgrades: Upgrades from trusted brands like ALL BALLS feature high-strength chromium bars, laminate rust coatings, and highly durable neoprene boots.
  • Extreme Performance Axles: For fully built rigs, extreme options like our 8 Ball Extreme Axles feature 8 precision ball bearings, massive CV cages, and black oxide coating for maximum durability.

When Is It Time To Buy A Replacement Axle?

Do not wait until you are stranded on the trail to replace a failing driveline component. If you notice any of these symptoms, it is time to shop for a replacement:

  • Loud Clicking or Popping: A rhythmic snapping sound when turning and accelerating means your outboard CV joint is failing.
  • Vibrations Under Acceleration: A bent shaft or severely worn inner joint causes a noticeable shudder in your steering wheel.
  • Torn Rubber Boots: Dark grease splattered inside your wheel well means the boot is compromised, which will quickly destroy the joint.
  • Loss of Wheel Power: If your UTV pulls violently to one side or a wheel won't spin in 4WD, the axle has completely sheared.

How Do UTV Tires and Suspension Alter Axle Fitment?

Two of the most common reasons riders blow out axles are aggressive tire upgrades and increased ride height.

Upgrading your UTV Tires increases rotational mass. Heavier, aggressive treads grip the terrain harder, sending violent shock loads directly into the axle shaft. Upgraded axles with thicker diameters are necessary to handle this extra torsional strain.

Similarly, adjusting your UTV suspension for more ground clearance changes your drivetrain's resting angle. Lift kits force standard CV joints to run at steep angles, causing excessive friction. If you run a lift kit, you must shop for heavy-duty axles built with high articulation angles. Likewise, long-travel suspension kits will require extended-length axles to reach your wheel hubs.
